The dialogue is short, emotionless and does nothing to further or build any sort of meaningful drama. There's no development of the story, no character arcs, and after a bit, you'll question exactly what the protagonists mission really is. Jump scares? Check (over and over again). Baby in the crib with distorted lullaby audio? Check. All the stereotypical horror flick elements are there, and basically little else. You're the teenage protagonist son who is the sole caregiver for your infant little brother, living in the same house.perhaps the most horrifying part of the entire plot is the apparent ineptitude of the local Child & Family Services authorities. The premise is old and tired, a happy family that has their life turned upside down after dad murders mom. You might even get a full 2 hours of entertainment from renting a movie, which you're unlikely to get from Evil Inside. You'll have no decisions to make, and no one to interact with, and no other objects in the setting can be manipulated or moved other than the few specific to that "level".
You'll have no inventory to check (nor will you need anything), and only once will you have to do anything more that Hit X to interact with an object. The "gameplay" level isn't much higher here.
